Our last little instalment to the Oh Baby! series is a wrap up of all the things parents cannot live without. These nursery must haves serve their purpose whilst you’re floating through the ‘first few months’ phase of eat, sleep, poop repeat. And nothing else… #newbornbliss
HOBBE ROCKING CHAIR
A comfortable and stylish is mandatory or the 2-3 hourly feeds. Your back will love you for it. Plus the nursery will look great!
A NIGHTLIGHT so you can navigate your way around the nursery during nighttime feed and changes.
MEDELA BREAST PUMP
Just in case your baby sleeps through the night (yes, the breastfeeding mums can’t enjoy that part as much yet) and also to pump between feeds if you are trying to boost your breast milk supply.
BOON GRASS DRYING RACK
Once you start using bottles, or even your breast pump you’ll be washing and steralising every day, perhaps more than once. This is a handy place to air dry all the bits and bobs.
LOVE TO DREAM SWADDLES & MUSLIN WRAPS
These are the key to a good nights sleep, for both baby and his or her parents. The snug feeling of both a swaddle and firmly wrapped muslin helps settle babies and minimises the jerk movements of their little arms causing them to wake up just as they’ve dozed off.
A nursery themometer that glows different colours depending on the room temperature. Blue = too cold and red = too hot.
Surprisingly this works wonders as background noise for your baby to settle back to sleep. Alternatively, try a white noise app or soft music of any kind.
HUMIDIFIER OR VAPORISOR
To create moisture in the air and ensure your baby can breathe clearly and sleep better. Especially great during winter when the heating is constantly on.
Any monitor with a camera is perfect for any parents piece of mind. It also means you can do things or have a nap while baby sleeps without feeling like you need to check on them every 5 minutes.
To hang above the change table so that your little one doesn’t wake the household up with screams at 3am. It can be too cold and scary for your newborn so having a distraction is great. Black and white styles with contrasts work well for their developing eyesight.
CHANGE TABLE & PAD
Not all parents go for this and opt to change baby wherever is most convenient such as the lounge room etc, However, if you’re struggling with an achy back, this will save you pain in the long run.
Works wonders for nappy rash.
NAPPY BIN OR SMALL NAPPY BAGS
If you have any can’t live without nursery items we want to hear from you. Leave the details in the comments and tell us why they’re so great!
