Denim will never go out of style. The SS17 runway has reassured us of that, and injected a whole lotta cool into the current seasons denim trends.
From jeans, shorts and skirts to dresses, oversized jackets and tops. Denim is a timeless material that looks good on everyone.
Here are our picks for wardrobe must-haves and ideas on how to wear them.
The perfect pair for summer – ripped denim jeans give you an instant cool vibe with an effortless feel to your whole outfit. Pair with almost ANYTHING from a chambray shirt for a little denim on denim, or a cute frilly off the shoulder top. Rock a pair of sandals, heels or even some havaianas with these and you’re done.
OFF THE SHOULDER DENIM TOP
Off the shoulder everything is so big right now, so it was only a matter of time before we could get our hands on the denim version. Pair with light coloured jeans, shorts or a cute mini skirt.
These are the cutest of all the denim variety. You can pick up a pair with a skirt bottom, shorts or pants. Mix them up depending on where you’re headed with a off the shoulder or crop top with heels, or a basic t-shirt or singlet with sandals for a more casual look. Want to add a celeb vibe? Add a slogan band tee to look extra cool.
Oversized denim jackets are all the rage. Wear it over your shoulders (sort of like a cape) and let it drape over a figure hugging dress and pair heels for an injection of cool to an otherwise ‘dressed up’ look. It’s certainly better to be overdressed rather than underdressed in any situation, but this gives your style a bit of personality. It’s better to be you and be oozing with confidence rather than feeling like you want to go home and change!
LOVING this addition to the popular denim items for the season. Longer than a mini, but not too long to hide those pins. Like all the other pieces mentioned in this article you can wear this with almost anything and for any occasion. We are also fans of this style in black denim.
Do you have a story about your favourite denim piece? Perhaps it’s a hand-me-down pair of Levi’s from your Mum’s closet worn in the 80s? We want to know… #denimforever
