Looking for new things to do in Canberra? We have decided to wrap up a bunch of our favourite places, spaces, shops, restaurants and more in a monthly series. Save our list, make some time between work, uni or on the weekend and experience some new corners of our beautiful city.
Trying out new cafes and restaurants is one of our favourite pastimes. New flavours, new venues and new cocktails are enough to get us out of bed on a lazy Sunday.
This month we’re loving Lazy Su – an Asian eating house in Braddon. We recommend the banquet. It’s a never ending party for your mouth, and the neon vibes throughout the restaurant will have you feeling all giddy for late night drinks afterwards.
Has anyone else noticed all the summer clothes and swimwear are on sale… ALREADY?!?! This makes us sad that summer is coming to an end, but quite excited for the 2018 Autumn/Winter fashion.
This month we’re stocking up on statement earrings from The Statement Life – owned by local Canberran, fashion stylist and brand -new-mama – Janette Lenk. You can pick up these embellished and tassled beauties at mussen located in the city or via the online store here: www.thestatementlife.com
Something about 2018 has us feeling quite ZEN. It could be the fact that we’re still all ‘new year, new me’ and seriously keen to take advantage of the fresh start we’ve been given by the calendar. Whatever it is, we are loving it, and can’t wait to spend more time on the mat at Bodhi Fit.
Located in Queanbeyan, Bodhi Fit is a gorgeous studio owned by mother daughter yogi duo Sophie & Chey. Look out for their exclusive ‘Yoga By Lights’ classes and snap up your spot to this special experience.
If you are from Canberra you’ve likely hiked Booroomba Rocks in the Namadji National Park. If not, pop it on your February must-do list, for those who have trekked this ‘booty burner’ stair-filled mountain, do it again while the weather is warm.
The view atop of the rocks is absolutely breath taking. You really feel a million miles from home. Something to appreciate, a place to take a breath of fresh forest-y air and of course #instagramoritdidnthappen 🙂
Googfest… okay okay we know it’s technically not Canberra, but we’ve certainly adopted this fantastic little community & concert.
Attracting around 10,000 people over the past few years running, Googfest is going ahead again this Saturday 3 February and it’s been announced recently that The Aston Shuffle will be headlining.
There’s a whole lineup of other artists and DJs, food stalls to enjoy – and it’s FREE to attend. Pack your picnic blanket, grab some nibbles and treat yourself to an entertaining night out under the stars with family and friends.
