A Canberra Girls Guide: Enlighten Night Noodle Markets

There’s something spectacular about the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets. Easily one of my favourite Canberra events, this feast for the eyes and stomach is on until the 11th of March at Reconciliation Place.

If you’ve never been to this annual Canberra spectacular we highly recommend you check it out! From the breathtaking projections that light up the parliamentary triangle, to the mouth-watering food up for grabs at the nearby stalls, seriously what’s not to love?

Viewing of the vibrant projections that light up the iconic Australian buildings start at 8pm and are free for all! However, if you’d like to try some of the tasty food up for offer we recommend you come ready, key card in hand, as this years Night Noodle Markets is a cash-less event.

Some of the delicious food stalls you can visit at the Night Noodle Markets range from the infamous Hoy Pinoy, where you can enjoy some delicious Filipino bbq and street food to Mr Bao, which as you guessed it, serves up delicious bao and mouth-watering pork belly fries.

Travel the world through food with the delicious spices and curries from Grill’d & Spice, Chur Burger for a Japanese/American style burger, The Korean sensation Potatoes on a stick (we know not our first thought for Korean cuisine) or Sambl Kampung with some mouth watering dumplings.

We know any good food safari is not complete without a visit on the desert train and we promise this is no exception Black Star Pastry is serving up a variety of cakes full of rose cream, biscuit and jellies perfect for a taste explosion, Gelato Messina is visiting with 4 Asian inspired flavours that will send even the savoury lover of the group back for more.

Finally for the ultimate desert indulgence Waffleland’s Cheeky Monkey – a waffle stick with peanut butter, ice cream, pretzels and caramel sauce. If this isn’t enough #foodspo to get you racing out the door know that this is only the tip of the iceberg of what is on offer!.

With a range of free and ticketed events for all to enjoy over the weeks of the Enlighten festival, in addition to specific dates across the two-week festival to see local and interstate musicians taking on the Enlighten main stage, you can dance the night away! To check out the exciting program head to the Enlighten Canberra website.

Also to be noted the event is dog friendly so bring along your furry friend and enjoy the magic that is the Enlighten Night Noodle Markets.
