How to combat dry skin during the winter

One of the biggest downfalls of the cooler weather is dry skin. We can thank the cool air and drop in humidity for this.

But have no fear, as we have put together some tips and tricks to help your skin to stay glowing all winter long.

Water is going to be your best friend. If you struggle to drink lots of water throughout the week, why not eat more fruit and vegetables that are rich in water. Though watermelon isn’t an overly Winter treat, why not try a morning smoothie that contains berries. This will assist in upping your water intake and overall health.

Though this is something that’s important all year round, regular moisturising is especially essential in the cooler months. Keep your face and skin, soft and glowing with a natural hydrating moisturiser

We can all be guilty of having super hot showers in the mornings to warm us up for the cool day ahead. But overly hot showers can be damaging to our skin. Not only does this wash away skins healthy oil, but it can also dry out your skin, leaving it flakey and red. Why not try and keep the temperature down with lukewarm water, eventually your body will get used to this temperature.

Like hot showers, over exfoliating can also seriously irritate the skin and strip its natural oils, leaving your face looking irritated and feeling dry. Its hard not to reach for the exfoliator, with hopes of getting rid of flakey skin, but try your best to keep exfoliating to once or twice a week, your skin will thank you!
