Favourite op-shops around town

There’s a reason op-shop is short for opportunity shop, not only is it easy on your budget, great for the planet and supports a good cause! We’re spoilt for choice in Canberra and here’s some of our faves!

Designer Op-Shop Emporium

Designer Op-Shop Emporium is a unique collective of small local businesses bringing you chic vintage and designer pre-loved apparel amongst flowers and plants, beautiful homewares, accessories and more! Also did we mention there is coffee?!

 Salvos, Fyshwick

Arguably one of the biggest op-shops in Canberra, there’s endless options of clothing to browse through from corporate to casual to formal and everything else in between – between being a huge furniture and homewares section!

Found: 5-15 Mildura Street, Fyshwick

The Green Shed Underground

Imagine the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin if it were a giant underground store of bits and bobs in the middle of civic – got it? That’s a little bit like the Green Shed Underground. This is one for taking your time and really enjoying the hunt through rows and rows of pre-loved fashion, books, assortments of kitchen items, games and so much more!

Another Chance Op-Shop

A little, slightly hidden gem stocked full of seasonable and occasion pieces, there’s an abundance of racks of pre-loved clothing in this small space to browse – but don’t just stop at the clothes, there’s a lot of bric-a-brac to peruse as well.

Found: Scullin Shopping centre, Ross Smith Cres & McIntosh Street

Red Cross Shop, Woden

A treasure trove for seasoned op-shoppers and a fabulous place for beginners, there’s a wealth of new, vintage and pre-loved clothing, homewares and kitchen ware and accessories for the fashion forward and budget conscious shoppers alike.

Found: 107-109 Woden Square 20 Bradley Street

When you’re off an Op shop adventure be prepared to give yourself plenty of time and don’t be afraid to hunt through the racks – your special treasures may just be hiding deep in the racks.
