Game Masters: The Exhibition

Date: 27 September 2019 – 9 March 2020
Location: National Film and Sound Archive 

The National Film and Sound Archive has transformed into Australia’s biggest video game arcade with 80 playable games and showcasing the world’s best designers and characters! Take a walk through this interactive journey and explore fifty years of video game history, including never before seen concept artwork, the creative process behind some of the most popular characters and franchises and an incredible display of vintage consoles! It’s an exhibition like no other.

Oktoberfest Parklands

Location: Patrick White Parklands

Brought to you by the team behind our fav music festival Spilt Milk, Oktoberfest Parklands is not to be missed! Don your Lederhosen pretzel with a pretzel in one hand and a beer in the other, you will bee-lining to the silent disco to bust a move. The Kicks team have added their own taste of Canberra to this iconic German event with an array of local Canberra DJs and food trucks – the perfect combination for a day in the sun. PROST!

Socceroos vs Nepal

Date: 10 October

Soccer fans, this one is for you! The Caltex Socceroos are back in Canberra after a four year hiatus and ready to take on Nepal as they kick start qualification or the FIFA World Cup QatarTM 2022. Don’t miss out on the home qualifying match!

West Side Story

Date: 10 – 27 October
Location: Canberra Theatre Centre

Hailed as one of the largest theatrical events of 2019, this is your chance to witness the unmissable musical event that is West Side Story in Canberra this month. West Side Story is the modern retelling of the Shakespeare classic, Romeo and Juliet – the tragic love story tells the tale of two young people whose happiness is destroyed by the hate sprouting from two enemy camps in New York City.

The Bloody Long Walk

Date: 13 October
Location: Red Hill

The Bloody Long Walk 35km challenge to walk, jog or run whilst enjoying spectacular scenery and supporting the Mito Foundation. Through raising funds for mitochondrial disease, you can help further research to find cures for this debilitating genetic disorder. Trek your way from Red Hill to Lake Burley Griffin in this fully supported course with checkpoints and refreshments.

Spartan Canberra City Sprint
