5 Healthy Snacks to Stop you Reaching for the Chocolate

I’ll be honest, the first few weeks of working from home it was really hard to ignore the fridge and pantry! All the food that wasn’t normally there in my ‘healthy’ snack drawer in my desk was finally all available! Soon though the novelty wore off and some healthy swaps needed to be made. If you’re feeling the same pull to the fridge as we are, we rounded up 5 healthy snacks to keep you going and stop reaching for the chocolate and other sweet snacks.

Corn Thins + Toppings

Corn Thins are so versatile and come in a huge variety of flavours these days. The classic corn thins topped with peanut butter and banana slices are always a go to, but some other combos you can try include:

  • Avocado, tomato and salt and pepper
  • Vegemite and cheese
  • Cream cheese, ham and tomato
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese
  • Avocado and sliced boiled egg

Don’t be afraid to get creative with your toppings and corn thin flavour combos!

Berries & Yoghurt

The supermarket often has sales on those little snack tubs of Chobani and YoPro. Keep an eye out for these specials (usually you can get a little tub for $1 each!), stock up on your fave flavours and grab whatever berries are in season. Simply mix together and you have yourself a healthy snack!

You can add some honey to sweeten it up if you need, or some muesli if you like that extra crunch.

bliss balls

Bliss Balls

Bliss Balls, or Raw Treats as they’re sometimes know, are super quick and easy and you make bulk in advance to grab throughout the day as you need! Check out some of our fave recipes below:

Hummus dip with cucumber and carrot sticks

Hummus is the ultimate snack dip – treat yourself with some cucumber and carrot sticks, or serve up a little platter with corn thins, ham and some cherry tomatos on the side and have a snack platter!

Apples and Nut Butter

Did you really think we’d make a list like this and not include the ultimate snack of apple slices and nut butter?! Grab your favourite type of apple and nut butter, slice it up and enjoy!

Of course, this doesn’t mean giving up chocolate entirely, enjoy everything in moderation! Like these chocolate coated banana bites that will take that guilt of eating straight chocolate away.
