From Little Things, Big Things Grow – Stephanie Savvoudiou

This is the second time we have been lucky enough to sit down and talk to Steph, last time we got the low down on her love of fitness and now we’re talking hair and her dreamy new salon Cali in Campbell. We know you will love her as much as we do, plus we have a little secret in the works with this beauty that we can’t wait to share with you.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into the industry/field?

My name is Steph, I’m 26 years old, a puppy lover, outdoors lover and a true Canberra girl! Hairdressing is something I fell into, I started so young about 15 and when it come to the crunch I started my apprenticeship in college and the rest is history. Fate right? Starting so young I’ve been lucky to have access to so much education, training and experience which has made the me hairdresser I am today.

Can you walk us through the background of where the passion comes from?

As much as I can say hairdressing is my passion, it’s something that I’ve worked so hard at and devoted so much time too. I would say my passion comes from achieving the next goal, there is always something it has to offer, there’s so much opportunity and that’s what keeps the passion going.

What was the most challenging aspect you’ve faced so far?

The most challenging thing I’m going through right now is opening up my own salon. I am so lucky to have such amazing support from family, friends and clients.

And what’s been the most amazing experience?

As challenging as it is, opening up my own space has been pretty amazing! There is so much that goes into a little shop. However the experience is something that really changes you and challenges you and prepares you.

What’s the biggest piece of advice you have for someone looking to chase their dreams/passion or try something new?

It isn’t as easy as saying just do it, I know that. But if you don’t you’ll never know!

What does an ideal day look like to you?

At the moment my works days the main focus.

First coffee, then exercise, work and sleep.  I do fit in admin somewhere in there!
