Most people associate Canberra with national icons and politics, but our capital’s food and wine scene has been flourishing over the past few years. Canberra is fast becoming well known for its delicious top quality Shiraz and Riesling from its many local and surrounding wineries. We’re spoilt for choice! Who doesn’t love a cheeky winery adventure, sampling some of the product and soaking up the incredible scenery? Here’s a list of our top five winery choices in and around Canberra.

Mt Majura Vineyard

Located not too far away from the heart of the city, the high altitude Mt Majura Vineyard is a boutique winery set in a stunning landscape. Helm Winery

Just a distance outside Canberra in Murrumbateman resides Helm Winery, pioneering the growth of the Riesling grape since 1973. Helm has become known for its award winning Cabernet Sauvignons and Rieslings and is a must visit for all beginners and seasoned wine connoisseurs. Speckled with local history and on a gorgeous rural setting, it’s perfect to taste some established quality wines.

Lerida Estate

Collector Wines

Sitting just a 40 minute drive outside of Canberra and known for its award-winning Chardonnay, Collector Wines are distributed nationally and found in many fine dining establishments.
