The Foodie Guide: Gungahlin

In the next edition of our ‘Foodie Guide’, we tackle the best eats in Gungahlin for all times of the day! We have left some of the classics off the list – sorry GreaseMonkey but we have featured you everywhere else… hehe.

Sunday in Canberra

Home to canberra’s rainbow bagels, Sunday in Canberra is tucked into a cosy corner of Gungalin’s main street. They serve up comfort food with a healthy twist in a super relaxed dining venue. We recommend the Comfort Pancakes or the Prosciutto & Watermelon Crown for something a little different

Location: 54 Ernest Cavanagh St, Gungahlin  |

Atlas on Hibberson

This little hole in the wall has some amazing coffee (because that’s what’s most important at breakfast!). They make an awesome breakfast Bacon & Egg roll and delicious museli if you want something on the lighter side.

Location: Shop 49 The Marketplace, 33 Hibberson Street, Gungahlin |

Oscy’s burgers

Oscy’s is the OG burger place of Gungahlin, and it’s not your average everyday burger either – think very american style vibes for the food and some huge burgers! You can also pick up some seriously loaded, loaded fries and buffalo wings! We suggest giving the Smokey Dawson and Grande Schnitz a go or the Nutella Burger if you’re in the mood for a midday treat

Location: Shop 39, 30 Hibberson Street, Gungahlin |

Saigon Fresh

It’s no Ms Bao Co but for northsiders needing a bahn mi fix, it’s a pretty good alternative. With super fresh ingredients, you can get your bahn mi fix, but they also serve up Veitnamese salads, wraps and you can even create a super fresh sandwich too.

Location: Gungahlin Village Coles, Hibberson St, Gungahlin

Ogawa Japanese Cuisine

Offering up authentic Japanese cuisine in a relaxed dining atmosphere, their menu is fresh and full of variety. The bento boxes on offer are great value and the sushi and tempura are super tasty.

Location: Shop 102/54 Ernest Cavanagh St Gungahlin |

Siren Bar and Restaurant

Siren Bar and Restaurant serves up contemporary cuisine paired with an extensive wine and cocktail list. The food is simple, and done very well. Don’t go past the Pumpkin and Sage Rissoto or classic and hearty scotch fillet.

Location: Corner of Anthony Rolfe Ave and Gozzard st, Gungahlin  |
